             … .    Snow, snow everywhere.

       ↪ {❋}  The Christmas and New Year already passed, and now she was ready to start a new year, hoping that she would get a good year.

Violet just sighned a little bit, hugging herself and making sure that her scarf was around her neck to make herself a little bit warmer.

“It’s really cold this year, more than the last year. ” She mumbled towards herself. “Just why, Jack Frost? Jeez.”

      The holidays were never considered a marking point for the end of the winter season; at least, not for the personification of freezing weather himself. If anything, it only encouraged Jack to maintain the ice-ridden sidewalks and chilly breezes well into February or even March. Most kids enjoyed his work, the snow days in particular. But apparently, not everyone.

      Not the teenager with dark clothes to match her blue-tinted hair that hid her away like that of a shadow. Not the teenager who was crouched forward in a positively hunchback manner, clutching her own form to fight off the chill. Oh, no – it was obvious in how she cursed his name that she did not appreciate the long-lasting winter.

      ❝Why?❞ repeated the floating boy.❝Why not?❞ With a snap of his fingers, a constellation of snowflakes began fluttering down from the hazy sky like fragile petals from a flower.

         “Mistletoe? Jack, you’re going to have to work harder than that. This would be a kiss of quite royal intensity.”

image

    {Oh, goodness. Elsa could feel her hands begin to shake, and her heart fluttered. Even though she could tease, and act above it all, she had never kissed anyone. When would she have gotten the opportunity to? In fact, aside from Kristoff and Hans, she hadn’t really interacted with a lot of men that weren’t old nobles or relatives.}

image

      Me too! I mean, ah, not me too. Well, me too, but I didn’t mean to be so eager. Not that I wouldn’t be eager to kiss you - but not too eager. I, ah…

              {And the eloquent Queen of Arendelle speaks.}

      ❝Y-yeah. Yeah – no, no – I gotcha.❞

            [He really doesn’t.]

      ❝We’re really just eager to kiss each other – !❞

image

      ❝—-I mean, not that I’m eager or anything. You know me, chill is my middle name. I’m just saying, kissing you’s alright, kissing in general’s alright, even kissing, I don’t know..–Anna’s alright.❞

            [Wait, no. That came out wrong.]

      ❝But – but how?❞

            [None of the Guardians, from Jack’s knowledge at least, possess the ability to completely vanish from sight. Only when children don’t believe in them would they appear to be invisible, but never do they phase back into reality with such ease like some kind of – some kind of ghost.]

               ”No…… You can’t be Jack Frost— he’s… he’s just a myth, a piece of fiction used to explain the weather, like Zeus.”

      ❝Would any old myth be able to do this?❞

            [—-And just like that, he’s off. Taking the girl along with him, of course. Any ordinary idiot can play a magic trick to wow an audience. The thing is, Jack’s much greater than a man who pulls a rabbit from his hat. He’s Old Man Winter, himself; a legend who wields frost at his finger tips and bends the wind to his will. The only way for her to believe is by experiencing. Skating by his side upon a lake that’s surface solidifies at his touch, breathing in the whipping slap of brisk air which can only be generated by his currents, and cling to his frigid wrist that could easily be mistaken as a cold-blooded animal’s.]

      {Elsa was taken aback. She had never seen Jack’s demeanor so serious. It was almost as if his face could do nothing but smirk mischievously     or, so she thought.}

   Jack, it’s nothing you can fix or make better. I’ll be fine tomorrow, I promise.

     {The anniversary of her parents’ death. It wasn’t something Elsa liked to think about, but it poked and jabbed at her mind all day. Usually, she could get through it, but today, it was much more difficult. The memories of her parents were so vivid, and it was days like this when she missed them the most. She didn’t know if Jack could understand.}

            [Weirdly enough, her vague answers light a flame in the pit of his stomach. It’s not like Jack isn’t capable of getting angry – oh, no. In troubling times when those he cares for are in danger’s reach, he’s cold – so cold he burns. Logic is scorched to a crisp and forgotten in the heat of battle. But never does he ever get upset over something so..–human. The past was cruel, no doubt. With all those times his presence was brushed off as nothing more than a brisk wind or when his name is spoken as if he was a mere fairytale. Still, ignorance is bliss, and possibly his only friend. Lack of interaction excused Jack from normal relationships. A life lived unloved, yes, but also devoid of the feeling that is clouding his brain right now. Whatever it is, all he knows is he doesn’t like it.]

      ❝Is it me? I mean..–I mean, did I upset you? Are you tired of me?❞

      ❝Need a little help?❞

            [With a flick of his wrist, the snow parts from the trapped girl to construct a narrow path. Of course, the edges represent Jack’s handiwork – eloquent frost that trail across the snow like the grape vine trellis in Italy.]
